Changing Seasons

Last night (Thursday the 29th) I was watching the boys wrap up practice for the week and something amazing happened. I actually caught a chill. Anyone who knows me I am not often cold so it was nice to finally feel fall weather coming in. It also stirred something deep inside me and I thought I would share.

For as long as I can remember until I joined the "real world" I was involved in sports. Football has long been a passion of mine and watching my son really made me miss my time on the field. If you have never played its hard to really express the feeling of being part of brotherhood. I'm not suggesting that other sports don't share similar qualities but football was always special to me. I can remember the smell of the grass, the coolness in the air, and the intensity on the field. I was so happy when Andrew decided he wanted to play ball and hope he can enjoy as much as I did.

Fall weather for me also means the return of hunting season. My brothers and I have not had a lot of time together since I moved from home, but something about Deer season changes that. It seems funny really because we go set in the woods and don't speak a word but those are some of the greatest and most memorable times together.

Please feel free to share what you enjoy most about the changing seasons.

Greetings and Welcome

Wanted to take a moment to say hello! I decided over the last few days to start sharing some thoughts and maybe just generate some healthy conversation. If somehow you made it here I hope you enjoy what you read and feel as though your visit was not a waste of time. I'd like to take a moment to tell you all a little about me.

I am a father of two wonderful children and a husband to a fantastic wife. We have been a family going on eight years now and I can honestly say it has been an adventure and without question the greatest eight years of my life. I enjoy a variety of activities and we are very active with the kids and in the community. I enjoy playing video games, hunting, fishing, cooking, music, and having fun. I am involved in a number of community projects annually including food drives, scouting, and volunteer coaching. I am also a part/full time student and hope to eventually complete my degree and coach.

My vision for this blog was to discuss a variety of topics in a controlled environment free of persecution and fear of being belittled. I hope that everyone who chooses to share their thoughts will do so respectfully and with careful consideration. I in now way intend to censor anyone but hope that we can use discretion and respect one another. I will also solicit the help of my wife, friends, and various guest writers to stimulate conversation of just share useful information.

Thanks for visiting and I look forward to some interesting topics and conversation.

John
